The letter maker and checklist
They run entirely in your browser. What you type there (names, addresses, account and claim numbers, dates) is not sent to us and not saved, including not in this browser's storage. If you use "Open in my email app", the letter goes into your own email app, and you decide whether to send it.
The bill checker
The checker at Check a bill also runs in your browser. Bill lines, names, claim numbers, letters, payoff figures, and case notes are not uploaded. There is no account.
A reload clears that work unless you tick Keep my work on this device. That choice is off until you turn it on. If you turn it on, this browser stores the work in localStorage under names that start with bu: (bu:optin and bu:case). Export downloads a JSON file to your device. Import reads a file you choose. Delete everything removes those names from this browser immediately. None of those steps contact our server.
The optional poverty illustration asks for household size, region, and income so it can show a rough percent of the HHS poverty guideline. That income is not stored and is not included in the export.
A link to Moneycapade uses only https://moneycapade.app/?utm_source=billunravel. It does not include bill details. You review, edit, and send every letter yourself. BillUnravel does not send it.
After one visit, this browser can keep a copy of the site files so the checker can open again offline. That copy is the pages and rules, not your bill. Bill details are not put in the page address.
Montgomery Appworks LLC is not a health-care provider or a HIPAA covered entity. BillUnravel isn't covered by HIPAA. That's why we designed it so your bill never leaves your device.
What this site collects
BillUnravel collects no email addresses and no other personal data. The bill checker, the letter maker, and the EOB checklist run in your browser. We do not receive what you type.
If you joined the waitlist before it closed, you can remove your email at https://appworks-waitlist.everusefullapps.workers.dev/delete or by emailing support@montgomeryappworks.com.
Our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains rights under Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar state laws. Please don't send us bills, EOBs or medical details.
Email to us
If you email us, we use your message only to reply. Please don't include bills or medical details.
What we don't do
- No analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies set by us.
- No accounts, and no upload of a bill.
- No collection of email addresses or other personal data, and no selling or sharing of personal data.
Our host
Cloudflare processes standard request data, such as IP address and the page address, to deliver and protect the site. Typed bill details are not in the page address.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
